I love canned homemade sauce. It makes having pasta an even easier decision. I am loving the team ice skating competition. I didn't even know Yevgeny Plishenko (sp) was still alive yet alone skating like a master. What a treat! Now I notice in your Reading column that you are in the midst of 84 Charing Cross Road. There is no way to be "reading" 84 Charing Cross Road. You have either never read it or you just finished reading it for the 47th time. With that I will begin and end my 48th time.
Ha ha! Linda, I was just thinking about that on my drive home. I thought, "If I don't do another post for a few days, it's going to look like I've been reading that tiny book for a week." But I do love to go back and read the parts that I love best, like when she teases her American actress friend for having sweets sent over, or tells her to run four pairs of stockings over for Frank's wife and daughters. And when she sends them all the goodies and apologizes that America is pouring money into Germany while England starves. And when they send her the lovely embroidered tablecloth for Christmas. And when she yells at him for sending the Protestant Bible. Oh, I guess the whole thing is my favorite part.
Also, the best thing about canning sauce is that it tastes like fresh made when you open it up!
I am a big proponent of the Oxford comma, I hate when people say "I could care less" when they actually mean "I couldn't care less", I think people who live in the southern hemisphere are tragic because their Christmas comes in the summer.
